1998 225 Hp yamaha

Both my 1998 225hp yamaha salt water series smoke and foul out plugs I used a non yamaha oil but have now changed to yamalube> any ideas
 
Check that the t-stats are ope

Check that the t-stats are operating normal...they are not stuck open....top of heads should get hot enough that holding your palm on it for more than a few seconds is uncomfortable. Check both heads.

hot water to see if they are working.
Did you empty the oil tank on the engine? I'm not sure how to do it, but there is a way to adjust the oil mixture.
Might help to do the Decarb procedures."
