I have a 1969 Johnson 85hp that I just started to work on.This is a unit that sat up for a couple of years so I'm taking my time going thru it. I already got the ignition system working from reading other articles here. I got good even compression on all 4 cylinders 130-135psi. I'm getting ready to overhaul the carburetors and I read in the manual that it takes a special tool to remove the main jets. Is this so? Anything else I should know about working on these carbs besides what the book says? I am new at working on outboards but am very mechanically inclined and have learned a lot just by reading messages on this forum.
