" mine has three connections -

" mine has three connections - one small and two big. one of the big ones are unconnected. What are these for? What are the general ideas for connecting them? I connected the thick one to the thick one on the starter engine which goes to + through the main switch, the small one goes to the same place on the start switch (off/on/start) as the instruments do - they light up and works when it is in on and start position. I think it works like this (no dead battery yet), but I find it strange with all these unused connections on the dynamo and the starter switch.

There is also a cut off electrical wire coming from a thin pipe starting at the diesel filter and ending in a torch-like thing inside the tube where the air goes in, after the air filter.

I would like to know if any connection on the starter or dynamo drains the battery when the engine is still, because if they do I must connect lanterns, lamps and bilge pump independent of the main switch.
Yesterday I forgot to turn off the main switch
and starter switch, and today the dynamo was hot though the engine was cold.
regards, sigurd. "
