I have a 1988 Searay Amberjack
I have a 1988 Searay Amberjack w/ twin 4.3Ls with 1200 hours each. I plan to rebuild the engines but it's been years since I've torn into a rebuild project. In the process of sorting out the fact from rumor I came across this tidbit: I've have heard there is a design flaw in the block that allowed the head gasket to blow causing coolant to be sucked into the front cylinders. This flaw was supposedly fixed in later production years but the fix to the older blocks is a beefed up head gasket. Is there any truth to the hearsay? I'll take any recommendations on the rebuild as well. Thanks in advance.
