"I have a 1978 wellcraft,it has a 6cyl volvo diesel AQD40A hp? The outdrive I can't find numbers or letters anywhere to identify it. Drive housing has a pn 850678 -7742 serial #604621.Everything seems to work except the trim which is machanical, the motor runs
if I remove it from the drive housing but will not turn what I guess would be a screw drive device that moves the piston out and back.I'm hoping parts are still available for this model but can't seem to identify it. Any help would be appreciated."

"It's most likely a 280 drive since thats really the only thing they put on the AQD40A. The serial number you gave is wrong, it would be a 10 digit number. And the part number you found is probably a casting number. A lot of parts are still available if it is a 280.
