2006 Honda 130 wiring trim gauge

Just wondering if i can

Just wondering if i can wire a faria trim gauge(from a previous johnson setup) to a newly mounted 2006 honda 130 . I have read the trim sending wire is the yellow/blue stripe. I connect this to the gauge and it does not seam to work. Do I have to use an actual honda trim gauge instead. The wires coming out of the trim sending unit are black, blue/black strip, yellow/blue strip.
please help.

yes. that would be nice. One I can see and understand. The honda one on the website is to hard to make out when blown up. I have been told that the OMC/johson one will not work.
 
You heard correctly. The John

You heard correctly. The Johnson/Evinrude trim gauge is not compatible with Honda. The Honda gauge is looking for a varying voltage while the Evinrude gauge is looking for a varying resistance.
