    Default "I have a 70 hp evinrude 1977

"I have a 70 hp evinrude 1977 and a 90 hp force 1995, both of them are doing same. they start slipping after you go past half throttle, the evinrude just did it today, I have been told it is probally the prop spun out, but i havent hit anything on the evinrude to spin it. last time i went out it was fine, but i changed the oil in the lower unit can wrong oil do this? its not clicking when they slip either. I read something in a manuel about the exhaust diffuer being bad could cause bubbles around prop but just thought i would see if someone could help."

Default "Props slip from old age too.

"Props slip from old age too. Take a look at the innards, after you pull the nut and washer. You will see an inner portion that slips over the propshaft, the rubber hub, and the inner prop flange. Put a mark on the inner portion, and the outer portion, so that they line up. Run the boat until the prop slips. Then see if they still line up. If not, hub is slipping. Most propeller stations will rehub very reasonably."
