"Went fishing the other day and motor made a knocking noise while in revrese, after investigating I found that the bearing carrier had cracks around the two bolts that hold it onto the lower unit .

I am trying to find a part number for a bearing carrier, that goes in the lower unit.Does any one know this part number?"

"Thanks just in time ,but after taking the bearing carrier out I discovered a little more damage.... reverse gear is chipped 3 gears,and pinion gear is in bad shape..deciding to buy a used lower unit. Any suggestions? THe s/n is 0g196982."

Uh, make sure you get same the type unit. 3 and 6 jaw reverse unit's are different. Unless you are up to pulling the powerhead to change that over, too.

The linkage geometry is different.

On top of the case behind the tab zinc bolt there is a marker that is either a straight cast line (3) or at an angle (6)."
