Every 2 years almost to the month the Drive Shaft gear in the lower unit splits into 2 to 3 pieces. You can alomost set you clock by it.
First time in 2004, new lower unit, 2006 replaced parts, 2008 new lower unit and now again about two years of use and again same problem. This motor is mounted on a Nitro 901 DCX. anyone else seen this problem?"
