"not too bad,unless the bearing carrier,is frozen in g-case...u need a slide hammer,w/a long rod and a hook on the end,OR..a puller that the bolts scre into the bearing carrier...if saltwtr eng,..heat will be a neccessity..and many times,on freshwtr too."

"What Phil said. One of my engines has a stream of black oil from the base of the prop. Looks just like a bad prop seal. Swapped out the LU with a spare. Surprised when I tested old LU and found it held pressure, and there was no water in it. Also surprised to see new LU with similar "leak." Then remembered the new LU oil is a light amber color, and what I am seeing has to be 2stroke oil."
