Is the 440 a bigger block than a 360 or 318

"I'm replacing the 360 that was in my 1968 25' Luhrs with a 440. After installing the V-drive, I've come to find that I am very tight for space between the rudder arm and the pulleys on the block. As it stands, I might have to make some funky exhaust routing to use the original holes in the transom. SO, my question is, is the big block that dimensionally bigger than a smallblock?"

"Thanks guys, because while I mounted my shaft about 1" further back than the boat originally had it (is that an issue too?) that means the most I can adjust is push the v-drive 1" forward, and 1" isn't much help!"
