I need help figuring out the b

I need help figuring out the best set of tachs for my engines. I have been told i cant get the signal from the alternator. Let me know what you guys have.

If your engines are 41P then y

If your engines are 41P then your alt should have the W terminal which are the lower voltage pulse the new electronic penta tachs use to get their signal. The back of the alt should have 4 studs. Of the bottom 2 studs ... the smallest diameter one is the W terminal.

I have to correct myself... Looking at the back of the alt the top left terminal is -ve ground. The top right is +ve charge.
The Bottom left is the W terminal and the bottom Right is the D+ terminal which is 7 volts from the dash. Can't remember which is the smallest stud. Hope this helps.
