"hello,im just after testing my thermostats in a 90 hp ,1988 evinrude ,any ideas what temp they open up and what is the chances of the bolts breaking of whilst trying to undo,,thanks tony or can they be tested in engine"

1: The thermostats fails, the engine breaks down and the power-head needs to be removed!!
2: You break the bolts when removing the thermostats, the power head and lower cover needs to be removed to drill out the remaining screw!

Which 'poo' do you want to be in?

Buy an IR heat gun and check the engine temperature, that is the quickest and easiest way."
