Cant get screw for Lower Unit off

"I know this might sound stupid, but for the life of me I cant get both screws to drain the lower unit oil off. I dont want to strip them. Any ideas?

use a screwdriver close to sam

use a screwdriver close to same size as slot on screw hit the end of screwdriver a few good times with a hammer then try to turn the screw
 
i tried the impact driver bit

i tried the impact driver bit myself
lo and behold after all the time wasting with penetrine and normal srew driver
first hit it moved second hit abit more
yeepee finaly its nearly out
only a bit to go
yep it moved allright i now have the head to the screw off-- but the tread still inside.

so a lesson there ive gone back to gental oxy heat
and finally got it out. in two parts

lesson dont force things

Make sure the screwdriver fits

Make sure the screwdriver fits the slot as tightly as possible. You may want to take an old one and grind it down to get a thicker blade out of it. Sometimes a few good shots with a hammer will free them up.
