JOE power trim bleeding

" I have an '85 Johnson 12

" I have an '85 Johnson 120HP I apologize because I asked this (?) once before, but there is one point that I am vague on. My trim works fine, but I hear air bubbles in my trim system when I use the trim, so I want to correctly bleed the power trim system:

In order to get the air out, the OMC shop manual says I am supposed to run the trim up and down for at least 5 cycles ( up and down ). Then, open the screw and fill the reservoir till it is level w/ the ' hole '. Then seal her up. Is this correct ? It seems to me that the screw should be unscrewed a bit first ( not removed ) and then trim it 5 x or more to allow the air to escape - then fill it w/ fluid ? ( same idea as bleeding the brakes at each wheel cylinder of a car )

What is the correct procedure ? I did try it ' the shop manual way ' and still have air in the system. "

"Do not leave the filler screw

"Do not leave the filler screw loose. The unit uses more lube in the up mode. If the screw was loose, and you lower the engine, the lube would be forced out.
