"I am looking for imformation

"I am looking for imformation on changing out a Merc I/O to a large outboard motor. The boat is a 22ft Glasply with a ford 302 motor. How do I fill the holes left in the transom, How do I run the new control cables, including steering, and is there a selection of mounting brackets I can choose from. Paul"
 
"Seen this done several times,

"Seen this done several times, the last one by a houseboat guy. You need to epoxy in a 'plug' of plywood about the righ thickness, and seal the wood up really good with liquid epoxy. The houseboat guy then added another slab of plywod over the hole and beyond, for strength.

"I've seen Several of these Conversions,.....
Done Several different ways,.....
Sadly,... None of them Worked.....
You end up moving Tooo much Weight, Tooo far Back....
The CG ends up Tooo far back,+ the boat handles like $h!t..............
So Far,... The 1s I've seen done were Either Junked or Sold shortly after the conversion......."
