50 hp spark plug firing problem

50 hp mec 4 cylinder lower cy

50 hp mec 4 cylinder lower cylinder spark plug looks washed out. spark is good compression is good any answers to this problem this a 82 motor

" HI. PULL THE PLUG WIRE OFF #4 WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND LISTEN IF THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN RUNNING QUALITY. IF NOT, AND YOU REALLY DO HAVE GOOD COMPRESSION AND GOOD SPARK, THEN YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BROKEN REED VALVE ON THAT CYLINDER. UNFORTUNATELY THAT MEANS THE POWERHEAD HAS TO BE TORN DOWN. According to advice I just re

According to advice I just received... to check for reed valve malfunction... bring piston to bottom of stroke and blow smoke into cylinder... if it comes out carb you have bad reed valve.
