"Had this posted at the Suzuki forum with no joy, perhaps someone here can help.

Bought an 85hp Suzuki two stroke recently for my boat and not to sure about the prop. The motor is a 1985 model with t/t and the power head reconditioned - however, it is fitted with a new 19" pitch prop and I am worried it may not perform well with my boat.

The boat is a 17 ft mono hull cabin cruiser (hulls known as easy planers) and bare boat weight without motor about 940 lbs (420kg) and will carry three adults most of the time. The boat will be used for fishing only.
Will the prop be OK or would a lesser pitch be more useful? If so, what pitch would be a nice all rounder?"

"Getting a correct propeller m

"Getting a correct propeller means testing on the boat with 'normal' load and a working tach!
After tat, you may know if it is the correct or wrong prop fitted.
Find out the correct max rpm for your engine, give it a run.
1" pitch change up or down, gives about 200 in rpm change."
