Trimming a boat out

i was wondering how low or how

i was wondering how low or how high should you trim your motor when using a electric trim.i had my trim all the way down and my boat was riding with the nose high in the air.is there a certain position to place the motor?? thank you

"First, we need to know what type of drive you have; I assume it's a stern drive. Then we need to define terms:

Drive in means the gear case has swung down and forward. That DROPS the bow.

Drive out means the gear case is swung up and away from the stern. That raises the bow.

Normal (but not always) trimming procedure is:

1. Drive in to get on plane

2. Trim drive out while on plane until the boat porpoises (bow hunts up and down).

3. Slowly bump drive in until the proposing stops.
