"Hi, when I have done approx 10 miles at approx 18 - 22 KNOTS and then 6 knots for 10 mins back up river to mooring, I notice my spark plugs on 2 cylinders have opened wider than the 1 mm I have been told to set them at, it's does not appear to be a big problem, as engine runs like a dream, (although it does take half a dozen winds to start as a rule, after being run hard then left to cool whilst fishing for an hour or two)
It has been professionally serviced earlier in the year, its just a mystery to me, why do the plug gaps open after such a short time after being set at the correct setting?? the plug colour is a dark sandy brown with no oil or soot, which I have been told is fine, can anyone help me with gap widerning mystery, thanks for your time in advance, best wishes Kevin - Southern UK"

I've heard of the opposite

I've heard of the opposite--piston hitting the plug and closing the gap--but this. I guess if it runs okay...
