Hard to pull and rope does not recoil. Must hand wind. Engine runs okay once started. Was told replacement parts are not sold any more."

"it does appear that way,..however,if u go to-- shop.evinrude.com look up ur starter,the in the parts area,where it says 'dealer direct' click search dealers,to find the one nearest you,..,..sounds like u need a new spring.."
