Just wondering what or if I should do anything different to winterize my 2001 150 optimax? I have winterized 2 strokes before just wondering if there is anything special I should do.I live in Mass if that matters.

"Pretty much the same - run stablizer in the gas through the system, but don't disconnect the gas to "run it out".

The oiler will keep working and you could end up with an excess of oil that will make starting in the spring a bit difficult.

Still use fogging oil in the cylinders and over the powerhead.

Now is a good time to check or change your filters (gas, vapor separator, etc), change the lower gear oil and even throw in a new set of plugs so all is good to go in the spring.

Also, do the impeller if it's due (every 2nd year).

It may seem like a bit of a waste to prep everything before storing it, but when the first nice day hits you will be on the water while others are either scrambling for parts or waiting in line at the dealer..."
