Power head and lower unit switching

" I have a old 115 Johnson wit

" I have a old 115 Johnson with the dual water pump pick up tubes and the old style electronics. It blew a lower unit. I have a newer 140 (bubble back), not sure of the year witha blown power head but good chasis and lower unit. Can I interchange either the poewhead or lower units to get one running engine? Shift shaft hook ups and water pump pick up tuber are different. Can I change shift shafts and water pump housing to make the switch? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks "

"Walkabout.... That can't be done. Shift arrangement is different, driveshaft/crankshaft splines are different, powerhead bolt hole alignment is different. There's more but that gives you a good idea why it can't be done.
