water passages.I have heard of a pressure test where you block off the riser opening and fill air thru the water intake hose comming from the tstat.

I just backflushed the exhaust manifold everything was clear and free but is it normal to have water exiting the exhaust bellows? I removed my outdrive and thought that was for only exhaust exiting and no water should be comming out.

If only HOT exhaust was to lea

If only HOT exhaust was to leave the manifolds and elbows (on top of the exhaust manifolds) it would MELT ALL the RUBBER.

"At the aft end of the riser, water from the water jacket combines with and cools the hot gasses before continuing out the exhaust overboard discharge.Without the cooling effect of the water, the exhaust gases would overheat the manifolds and rises and burn thru the ex.hose.

So the answer is it mixes with the ex gases and water from the manifolds which exits the transom and exhaust bellows. oh...."
