Default Yes The bronze or stainless

    Yes

The bronze or stainless steel shift arm must face 12:00 striaght forward while holding a light force on the prop in a c'clockwise direction

The splined shaft if you have that model which goes into the bronze arm must be turned clockwise as far as it will go while turning the prop c'clockwise and again holding pressure on the prop to keep it in forward and keep the splines from moving.

It is a bit of a juggling act to get everything lined up but take your time....
this keeps it locked in forward gear
