Plan B. My oil leak is not the

Plan B. My oil leak is not the oilpan gasket. The leak is at the fitting for the off side dip stick. The pan feels like it's made of aluminum. If it is aluminum what type of plug can I use to replace the fitting? Stainless will corrode the aluminum.

"It should be threaded. Drail the oil and remove it to see if its the tapered pipe thread or a straight thread. I haven't touched an XL's pan but the older stuff is pipe thread.

As far as material; aluminum, then stainless, not brass. You may be able to get a 'modern' plastic plug from a good auto parts store. With any, I'd clean the threads and use a thread locking compound to minimize a recurrence."
