"i have a 1970 something evinrude 50 hp. when i start the boat it runs great until i put it into either gear. most of the time it will die, but when it does not, it just barley moves the boat. when i took it out of the water, i noticed some brown oil leaking for where the lower unit bolts on in the front. there is a very small hole there. can the two things be related? and how do i fix that tiny hole? or is it suppose to be there? i appreciate any help."
