Selinoid wirering diagram for 1982 mercury 40hp outboard

I changed my selinoid and now

I changed my selinoid and now I have no spark what so ever . I have 1 wire can't seem to find where it goes. I think I burnt out the rectifier but don't know how to test it. Any one able to help me

"disconnect the black/yellow wire at the switchbox, then see if you have spark. That wire grounds the ign, it is also hooked to a mercury tilt/safety switch on the exhaust plate. Hope you didn't toast the powerpack. The wiring is simple, battery to the big lug on right of solinoid, starter wire on big lug to the left of solinoid, and from memory yellow/red to solinoid small post. http://www.maxrules.com/fixMERCwiringcodes.html
