Just found this site today.

I have 1a 1999 Johnson 225 hp. The engine starts fine in the morning and idles through the channel with no problems and then goes on plane and runs great.

The trouble is after it is off for a while either fishing or on the sand bar. The engines dies once put in gear and takes 5-8 time to finally run in gear. Once it does, all is great.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated."
 
Do you pump the primer bulb wh

Do you pump the primer bulb when restarting ? Are your fuel line connections tight? Fuel water Separator on tight ?(dont overtighten)
 
Yes on all three. New primer b

Yes on all three. New primer bulb and new fuel lines.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

"the only other thoughts, continueing on that it's a fuel issue, is a carb is causing it, or pinholes in the fuel pump but if that was the case, i would think you would have a problem starting anytime."
