"Hi I just bought a 1986 merc

It runs fine, but very slow to accelerate from a stop
I'm hoping it's because I have the wrong prop for it
Does anyone know the proper prop for this model?

My 17 ft 1983bass tracker/merc 40 runs 29mph, I would expect 30mph with the 50hp. So if the engine is heathy and tuned 10.5x13 or 14p should get it going. This is just a guess since we don't know the max rpms. But don't buy a new prop till we know what the old one is and if the engine is good to go."
