"Marty, oil from the water inlet is fairly common since you have all kinds of burnt/unburnt oil in the exhaust housing (along with burnt/unburnt gas and numerous other "cooties") that gets out where ever it can.

Before you get too far, you have to do some directed troubleshooting.

If you think it's only firing on one cylinder, you need to hook up a timing light and see if that is in fact the case.

If the ignition is the cause of your issue it could be a stator, trigger, CD box, coil, plug wire, plug or a ground that is the problem - so need to first figure out if you have spark or not.

If the spark is ok, then you could have a fuel problem - anything from air getting into the lines to a plugged filter or carb.

So one step at a time, and confirming spark is the easiest thing to do (along with checking the compression - toasted rings will cause it to run like crap as well)..."
