I have 1984...454's 350 crusaders
do they have thermostats? if so what is the best temp degrees to have? I'm in the Great Lakes freshwater.

I would strongly suggest getting the service manuals and parts listings for your enigines. That will provide you with the basic knowledge you need to get started. It would have also answered your questions above. Do you have raw water cooled (raw water cools everthing) or fresh water cooled (closed circuit cooling w/heat exchangers) engines? Thermostats are usually located top front of engine right above the internal water pump. Raw water pumps are usally mounted separately and are belt driven by the engine. Impellars are inside them."
