Ignitionstart problem on 43 in wellcraft

"problem: turn key and motor

"problem: turn key and motor turns over, but does not start. turning key again and all electricals are dead. no gauge comes on, motor does not turn over. repeated turns of the ignition key and all remains dead. ignition switch seems fine (gets 12+V). must be other interlocks somewhere, but i'd appreciate any advice on where to start looking.

"check your battery connection

"check your battery connections for corrosion, and loose terminals. also check where the positive battery cable is on the post of the starter for the same things. also the ground on the back of the engine. if everything seems ok, then try a new battery."
