motor is running rough at idle and stalling when you put it in reverse this only happens half the time

"if its been sitting for any time remove and clean carbs, if not it might need a little mixture adjustment. The problem is if it is a carb, and you run it, the cyl or cyls with the bad carb are not receiving any oil. So check spark, compression and then clean carbs."
