I purchased a 1987 Winner with

I purchased a 1987 Winner with a OMC 3.0 Cobra about three weeks ago. I noticed yesterday the temp rised to around 240 when running about 4000 rpms. When I reduced the rpms to 1000 the temp drops quickly to around 160. Any suggestions?
