Is the length of the water int

Is the length of the water intake hose crucial? I need to move the transmission cooler and the hose maybe 4 feet in length from the downstream side of the cooler. What type of hose is to be used and where can it be procured? I think it is a 1" ID hose.

"I am not a pump expert, but usually the most important issue is how high the pump must lift. Assuming your engine and seacock have not moved, it should not be a problem. I have raw water cooled 360's (1976) and the hose between the oil cooler and the raw pump is 1 1/4"... yours may be different."

Mine is about that same size and easily that long. Should be okay.
