    Default "I have a small leak around my

    "I have a small leak around my boats plug I have the brass threaded plug, noticed that I was getting a little water in the bilge area very very little I left the plug in and when I got home I could see the water just seeping out from the fitting the brass plug screws into, so my question is, can I just unscrew the 3 screws pull it off and reseal it or is it not that simple. Just didn't want to open a can of worms.Thanks Joe"

    "If leaking between plug and fitting, just use some teflon tape.
    If leaking between fitting and hull, remove the fitting and reseal with Sikaflex."

    Sicaflex contrary to ordinary silicone has a strong bonding capability even on gelcoat.
