Hi all! New to the forum.

Hi all! New to the forum.

Vacation to MN last week ended quickly when the OB shut down and wouldn't restart. Drug it home Saturday and started taking a closer look. I found a bearing cage had let go.

I am hoping that someone on this forum has rebuilt this or a similar outboard and can lend some tidbits of knowledge in regards to watch it's and gatcha's.

Anything that you thing might be helpful would be appreciated.

"If you lost a bearing, the crank is shot. That alone would put me to the want ads and advertise for a parts motor. They did use that crank for many engines. You may get a parts motor for as little as $100.00- wouldn't pay much over that. Also call the local marinas around- maybe one is having a yard sale."
