"Hi, I have an old white 9.9hp Yam 4 stroke (model no.F9.9AE) which will not lock or tilt with gear selection. Can manually lock or unlock with lever on bracket but no good as motor is controlled with remotes (Yam 703). All tilt lock mechanism is in place and no damage, just can't see how gear change controls position. Have workshop manual but does not cover this area. Currently running locked so no kick up in reverse but concerned if I hit something underwater going forward. Hope someone out there can help.
