Aq430 filters VampP or auto is there a difference

"i am in the process of wanting to replace filters on my aq430 engine the cost of a petrol VP filter are £23.00 and the cost of a mallery spin on is £8.00. i also have been told that Frame are supplying OEM replacement spin on filters for marine engines.

Can any one tell me why i can not use the auto filter in these engines, as my logical thinking is the engines are used in cars-vans-lorries and just marineized for marine use, i know the majority have 10 micron filter mesh.

could any one advise me as to the differencesas i am seriously thinking of trying a non V/P filters.

i am also a bit confused as to what oil to put in engine other, than the quality must be SG, what is todays oil viscoisty required in these engines.

"Regarding the Fram ps 3808, it is a direct replacement for the Sierra 18-7845, and both are direct replacements for the VP 855686-2. You are fine with it.

Regarding oil filters, your engine is a 4.3 GM engine, so look for a filter that fits that engine (like the Fram filters you listed).

Regarding oil, I believe your engine calls for 20W50 or 15W50. The newer series call for synthetic, though. Here is the link to the 432 manual (similar to yours), you can look at the specs at the end.

"thanks for info realy appreciated, i would stick with V/P put its just becomeing a rip off with there service spares getting more expensive each year.

this site is ace over here in uk info on this engine and service items is rubbish
