"I have a 1978 20' slickcraft with a 228 gm 305, my first boat, had it out once ran great,temp stayed right at 150 no matter what speed. Hit rocks, broke my lower drive..oof, my brother let me have the lower drive off of his boat, 898 I think, ( 305, but less hp @ 190), put on this lower unit, fits great, ran the boat, runs great, but now its overheating, at idle or low rpms it runs @165 degrees, at wot it shoots right up to 200.. Can someone help?"
