99 volvo penta 30l gs overheating

I have a 99 volvo 3.0L gs and

I have a 99 volvo 3.0L gs and it is over heating. I recently replaced The impeller old one was ok but did it anyway. found some pieces from a previous one from other owners. also replaced the thermostat. and temp sensor on thermostat housing. I checked compression on all cylinders because supposedly it has a newer head on it. all cylinders were right around 150. don't know what else to try. I just bouhgt this boat end of winter. please give suggestions. thanks

"also if i run at about 3800 rpm temp stays good for quite a while, get much higher and the temp starts to climb. and once temp gets up it ussually drops at low rpm."

"I would check for blockage the thermostat housing, and also the hose going to the exhaust manifold. Then, make sure the exhaust manifold and riser cooling passages are clear."
