Mercury engine has a low oil sensor light that is located on the front of the motor. What happens when the low oil pressure light goes on is the engine goes into rpm reduction mode. The light goes on when you are running the motor fast and you come to slow down the boom the light pops on. We have had this problem with the motor for the past 3 years. Sometimes we can run the motor with out the light going on and sometimes it goes on all the time. What we do is shut if off and start it back up and it works perfectly fine. The engine has been repaired/maintanted only at authorized Mercury marine repair centers. A Mercury repair technician was sent from corporate mercury to try and fix this problem. THe oil sensor light did not go on for the repair guy and he said the engine was in "acceptable running condition."
has any one had this problem and knows how to fix it?
Mercury will not assist us with any more finances we are looking for a the miracle fix anybody out there??
