Mercruiser belt squealing

I put on a new belt and still

I put on a new belt and still get a squeal the alternator turns freely and the water pump turns no problem i looked at the alternator and the pulley has a little wabble but seems tight am i missing something

"is there any 'radial play' in the alternator (shake up and down or left and right)? shouldn't be any, if there is, probably time to go to the alternator shop.

also, make sure it is the correct belt. once tensioned, you should not be able to rotate the alternator by hand.

Sometimes, a long screwdriver can be used like a stethoscope to isolate the location of a bearing squeal."
 
it doesnt' have power stee

it doesnt' have power steering i spin the alternator pulley and i have a little wobble the bearings seem to be ok

Got it too tight and bent the shaft?
