"Hi All,

This is a great forum. After reading a number of postings, I realized that I'll need to clean/rebuild the carburetor on my BF90A.

But, because my engine is 2nd hand, I don't know when it was manufactured so that I can purchase the correct gaskets etc. for this engine.

I went to the Honda site http://www.honda-marine.com/owners/SerialNumber.aspx and though I located the Frame Serial Number, I still don't know what year it was manufactured.

Any idea where the information may be stamped on the outboard?

"I hate it when I post a question and with a little more effort, I realize that I could have answered it myself.

So, I went to boats.net and realized that by comparing the Frame Serial Number with the range of BF90A Serial Numbers on the boats.net site, I figured out that my engine was manufactured in 2002.

BTW. Those parts diagrams are very handy."
