Old dual line pressure tank pressure valve question

Can anyone tell me at what psi

Can anyone tell me at what psi should the pressure release valve open and is there anyway to check it. Mine seems like it has quite a bit of pressure when i remove the fuel cap. Possibly a bit too much??

"I don't know exactly but 5# would sound a good average. They are rebuildable and the pressure relief has shims to adjust the pressure relief (unless some one did that to fool me) They relief a good pressure thru that vent on the cap when released. Sound like about as hard as you could blow thru a straw. Check the bottom of the tank from the outside, they can develop a bulge. Then you might want to rebuild it and clean out the relief valve."
