"i need the rewind pull starter unit for my 1955 7.5 horse, it was given to me without the pull starter unit. where can i get one ? i've been trying many web sites. i have to use a pull rope on the top of the motor.

"i filled my 1955 7.5 horse outboard motor with gear lube up to where the fluid was coming out the screw fill hole. the motor threw out lube out of the shaft housing where it splits above the propeller and out the hole in the back of the motor above the propeller(a hole with a lip on it) i split the shaft casing apart to see why it was leaking where it splits, the gear lube was milkish white and grey ? i'm new at this. i mixed the ratio oil to gas 16: to 1 with a gallon of gas, it was a living smoke machine so i thinned down the mix with another gallon and a half of gas? could the oil have gotten also in the shaft from the mix ? what is the mix ratio on this motor. thankyou for the help ! mike mesnard"
