"bought/inherited 85 glassmaster boat with v8 ford mercruiser. boat was sitting after a rebuild for two years, cleaned it up took it to the lake and fired it up.started and ran decently however after 5 minutes of low rpm cruising oil and water came out of every orifice in the motor. made it back to shore. dissasembled the motor but could find no cracks in otherwise very nicely conditioned motor.Any suggestions? Is there a common problem for these motors? was told it's a 175 hp motor.I have little boat experience."

"Was there a possibility that the engine was not properly winterized and froze while in storage? On a healthy motor, I can't think of too many orifices that water/oil could come back out of. Besides the oil filler tube, everything else should be sealed. Where exactly was the oil/water coming out? If it's frost plugs, you likely have some serious engine problems as only water should come out of these if the block's not cracked."

"should have test run it first in your drivway
could be just the drain plugs were left out. 1 on eack side of the block,1 in each manifold."
