I changed the water pump on this motor which is new to me and all went well (more or less). There was a hose coming out of the front of the lower end that snakes its way up the mid section and out the front by the motor mount. The hose was pinched off when I removed the lower unit.
I freed up the hose and water comes out of it when the boat is running in the lake. What's the purpose of this hose?
