Hey guys this is my first post and first boat .....just curious how i find out the year of my 3.5hp mariner 642 S 013536

The same is true for me (cherry) new at this. My engine is 28E serial # 664S27088. What year do I have and will a SELOC repair manual 1 & 2 cyls. 1977 - 1989 be a good start to repairing my problem? thanks for any info. Jeff
